The Living Cultures of Frisco Scholarship Gala is taking place next month.
January 15 would have been the 91st birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and this event takes time to remember his words. It also pays tribute to the next generation of those who strive to carry on with his legacy.
The gala will consist of dinner, music, dancing, and a reading. Steven Lowenstein will be delivering one of King's most powerful speeches.
The main reason for the gala is to award scholarships to participants in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay and Oration Scholarship. The top five finalists will be on hand to read their contributions to the contest which had the theme "Many cultures ... one dream." The top three will receive scholarship awards.
To help ensure this event continues, sponsorships are available for purchase. Applications for vendors will also be accepted.
Tickets are available for $110 per person or $175 for two, and the prices will go up $25 after January 5.
