Frisco celebrates creativity with art festival

Frisco residents looking for a fun outdoor activity may be interested in an upcoming art event.

Chalk the Park sees a local park become an interactive canvas for a variety of local artists. Those who attend the event will have the opportunity to see chalk art pieces being finished and vote for their favorites.

Events such as this give artists the chance to show their skills, and conceive of new pieces. Some of the artists attending such events sell their art professionally, often making use of printing services to create smaller, reproducible prints of their signature pieces.

Chalk the Park will see artists of several different levels participating in the event and there are prizes to be awarded at the end of the evening. All who are interested in viewing are invited to walk through the event area to see the pieces being presented. Spectators will also have the chance to participate in choosing the People’s Choice Award winner and may speak with the artists. There will also be judged prizes awarded in three different age categories.

The event will be taking place on Saturday, November 7 in Kaleidoscope Park, located at 6635 Warren Parkway, Frisco. People are invited to walk through the park starting at 3:00 pm, and the event will conclude with the award announcements starting at 6:45 pm. The event is family friendly and free to attend.
