As many home horticulturalists will attest, it is not always an economical pastime, but a Frisco area event may help to change that.
The instalment of the KLB Garden secrets Series that is on the agenda for mid-September will be focused on plant propagation, and it offers a way to make indoor gardening a lot more thrifty. Sue Newhouse, who is a KLB and Denton County Master Gardener, will share her expertise, and different techniques will be taught.
The class will teach several propagation methods that may be suitable for both the newbie and experienced home horticulturist. These include layering and cuttings, and the use of rooting hormone to achieve success may be on the agenda. Both perennials and annuals will be covered, and the techniques may be useful for both indoor and outdoor plants. Everyone will be encouraged to ask questions, and the run time for the activity is one hour.
Gardening is a pastime that is enjoyed by many people, and offering horticulture workshops like this is one way a community can encourage people to get out and be active.
