More people are becoming aware of the importance of pollinators, and Frisco is about to be treated to an event that will teach them more about these garden helpers.
Play Natural Frisco Resources is building the buzz about its “Best Plants for Pollinators” learning session, which has been prepared by Shades of Green, and is one of the instalments in the WaterWise initiative. It will take place over the noon hours, and admission is free.
Everyone who is interested is invited to bring along their brown bag or other lunch to enjoy while they take in a presentation that will introduce a variety of pollinators. Familiar types such as butterflies and bees will be discussed, and less well-known species including moths, beetles, bats, and birds will also be on the list. The attendees will discover how plant choice can encourage them to visit a garden and even take up residence.
Workshops may offer an introduction to a particular topic, but the attendees may still be eager to learn even more. A brochure printing company can be called on to create educational materials to hand out during an organized learning session.
This introduction to the benefits of inviting pollinators into a garden will be on offer on April 8, and it will run from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The function will be held in the theater at the Frisco Heritage Museum and advanced registration is needed.
