Frisco asked to help save a life

Frisco residents will soon be rolling up their sleeves to give a gift that may just be a real lifesaver.

The American Red Cross has partnered with the Heard Museum Natural Science Museum to host a blood drive. As the country is coping with a national blood crisis, this event is especially important right now. Most who are healthy are eligible to make a donation, and the process, from start to finish, usually only takes about an hour.

Everyone who would like to get involved is asked to bring their photo ID, and there will be a brief check in, screening, and quick health assessment. After the blood donation is complete, each donor will receive a light snack before they go about the rest of their day.

The organizers of the drive stress that each point of blood collected can save the lives of up to three people. Advance registration is appreciated, and there are lots of timeslots available. A poster printing company offers a way to promote community-based activities, and these are often both economical and effective.

The Heard Museum Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary has put out a call to the area residents to consider making a donation to this blood collection drive, which has been scheduled for Saturday, March 5. Appointments start at 10:00 am.
