Annual ball raises funds for Heart Association

The Collin County Heart Ball is taking place next month in Frisco, raising funds for the American Heart Association's Open your Heart program.

Last year, this event raised over $470,000 and had 450 people in attendance. The goal for this year is at least the same amount.

The evening will consist of food served by nine of the area's top celebrity chefs. Those participating this year include Chef Aaron Staudenmaier from Whiskey Cake Kitchen + Bar, Chef Paloma Ledesma of the Crest Auto Group, Chef Jorge de Rocha from Bulla Gastrobar, Chef Andrea Shackelford of the Harvest Seasonal Kitchen, and Chef Todd City from Sixty Vines.

In addition to dining, both live and silent auctions will be taking place. Organizers are still accepting auction donations from local businesses and individuals. Sponsorships are also available for purchase.

To help ensure a high turnout for events like this, organizers often work with local Stationery printers to provide a quality printed invitation that will be sent to those who attended last year or are known to be local philanthropists.

The Ball will be held at the Omni Hotel Frisco on November 9. Tickets are $500 each. For the most up-to-date information, to become a sponsor or to donate an auction item, contact Joanna May of the American Heart Association at 972-510-8029.
