Once again, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden will host its fall festival, the iconic Autumn at the Arboretum which includes exhibits celebrating pioneer life.
This year will mark the 19th Autumn at the Arboretum and the 2024 theme for the Pumpkin Village will be “Texas Town” which will take guests on a trip through Texas pioneer life. The Lakeside Exhibit Area is recreated as a celebration of pioneer life in Texas using 100,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds creating an immersive experience for visitors.
Also included will be 150,000 blooming fall plants including among others, chrysanthemums, pentas, and marigolds spread throughout the garden.
Six pumpkin houses will be available for guests to explore with each one representing a specific element of Texas pioneer life. Each of the six will feature a detailed historical marker that will give insight into its historical importance and its effect on daily pioneer life.
Event venues often turn to Print shops for both their interior and exterior signage.
The “houses” will range from a charmingly rustic log cabin to a lively local saloon and is designed to offer a glimpse into the lives of early Texans. Other exhibits will offer the chance to explore a quaint general store, a pioneer farmstead, a one-room schoolhouse and the simplicity of a sod house.
Autumn at the Arboretum begins September 21 and runs through November 2, opening each morning at 8 am.
