Fajita Pete’s, a casual, Houston-based Tex-Mex chain has plans to open in the heart of Lakewood, in Dallas.
Construction on the Lakewood Fajita Pete’s began in early March, and according to a company spokesperson, is expecting to open in early summer at 1920 Abrams Rd.
Pete’s concept includes a fajita setup with jalapeno, onions, shredded cheese, lettuce and guacamole served with refried beans, Mexican rice and chips and salsa. Diners can choose from beef, chicken, shrimp or veggie. Also on the Menus are burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, tacos al carbon and carne asada. Additionally, it offers several other entrees.
The chain first appeared in the Dallas market over 10 years ago with a Richardson location. Recently the company has been in expansion mode and opened a Carrollton location in 2018, followed last year by a Parks Cities location.

Pete Mora founded the eatery in 2002 and despite being a traditional eatery, he wisely focused also on delivery and catering.
Hugh Guill is the franchisee for the Lakewood location, which will be his second Fajita Pete’s. His first location opened in September 2020 at 4441 Lovers Ln. and he hopes to add restaurants in Plano, Oak Lawn and North Dallas.
Although seen as a picky area when it comes to restaurants the combination of cheap and familiar cuisine is expected to win Lakewood residents over.
