Kilwins chocolate to open in north Dallas

Noted for its sweets, especially its chocolates, the Michigan-based chain Kilwins has announced it will be opening a location in north Dallas in early 2026.

Don and Katy Kilwin founded the chain in 1947. The confectionery shop is known for its fudge, boxed chocolates and ice cream. Currently nine of the 175 Kilwins located throughout the United States are here in the Lone Star State with two of those nine in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Joining The Colony at Grandscape and Grapevine location will be the newest store at 3081 Olympus Blvd at Cypress Waters’ the Sound.

Some of Kilwins signature items are chocolate nut caramels, chocolate truffles, caramel apples and ice cream, of which most locations carry 32 flavors, including rotating seasonal flavors such as pumpkin pie. Ice cream can be purchased by the scoop or by the quart and with scoops available in cups as well as in-store made waffle cones along with caramel and hot fudge toppings.

Banner and flyer printing services are often part of a new establishment’s grand opening.

The new Dallas Kilwins will be part of the company’s big push to expand through Texas. Plans are to open three other additional locations in the state which include one in Midland, and one in Waco this summer and an Austin East Village location opening along with the Dallas location in early 2026.
