A new list put together by WalletHub weighing the best winter getaway spots places Dallas-Fort Worth in fourth position.
Texas performed strongly in the ranking, with Austin taking the No. 1 spot, Dallas at No.4, Houston grabbing No. 5, and San Antonio coming in at No. 6.

Various members of the hospitality industry frequently update the information they supply their brochure printing service to include the latest favorable publicity of their city.
To arrive at their ranking of the best winter destinations, 69 of the country’s most populated metros were compared by WalletHub across six categories: weather, travel costs and hassles, attractions, activities, local costs, and safety. Dallas took the top spot in the “travel costs and hassles” category, and was No. 2 for weather. The Big D’s attractions and local costs came in at No. 12 and 13 respectively, and No. 15 for activities. The city’s lowest ranking was a still respectable No. 26 in safety.
Between Austin’s No. 1 position and the No. 4 spot occupied by Dallas, Las Vegas and San Diego made up the podium places in second and third respectively.
