This makes the second year in a row that the hotel earned the top rating. The Post Oak Hotel in Houston is the only other hotel in Texas to receive five stars this year.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas general manager, Andrew Davidson, said in a release:
"The Forbes Five-Star award is one of the most esteemed achievements that can be bestowed upon a hotel, and we are proud to say we've accomplished this feat two years in a row."
Hotels, spas and other similar businesses, as well as hospitals and institutions of higher learning generally request for brochure printing services to mention any awards they may have received.
Three hotels in the Dallas-area received four stars from Forbes this year: The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, The Joule and the Four Seasons Resort, and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. Forbes also put two spas on its four-star list in 2021 – Well & Being Spa at Four Seasons Dallas at Las Colinas, and The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Dallas.
Forbes Travel Guide inspectors assess hotels while masquerading as regular guests for three-day, two-night stays. Stars are awarded using 900 standards for each property, such as the décor, staff uniforms, and how health-conscious the food and beverages choices are.
