California sandwich shop coming to Dallas Arts District

The Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market has chosen its first location in the Dallas area, in the bustling Ross building next to the Dallas’ Arts District.

Mendocino Farms was founded by a married couple, Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen. The California-based upscale sandwich restaurant has succeeded by creating bountiful versions of sandwiches with freshly baked breads and high-quality ingredients.

Included in its sandwich menu are classic favorites such as the tuna melt and club sandwiches. A category on its menu entitled “foodie favorites” offers a steak sandwich on a pretzel roll with chimichurri sauce.

Vegans are not left out; they can choose from several options including a Southwest-spiced impossible burger on a brioche bun with vegan Chao cheese, and a vegan banh mi (Vietnamese bread) with tofu.

Entrée salads – among which there are a superfood salad containing avocado and quinoa, a chicken Cobb, a Caesar salad, and a beet and goat cheese salad – provide Mendocino Farms diners with an alternative to their sandwiches.

Calling itself an upbeat, fast-paced gourmet sandwich shop, Mendocino Farms has taken an upturn since Whole Foods invested in the company in 2015. The company now has 25 locations throughout California.

New locations for a restaurant chain require a variety of printing services, and business Stationery is just one example.

The restaurant’s first move outside California came in October 2019 when it opened a location in Houston, where there are now three restaurants. A tentative opening for the first Dallas location is in Spring 2020.
