A group that has been dazzling audiences for over six decades is coming to Franklin.
The Gatlin Brothers, made up of Rudy, Steve, and Larry, are Grammy Award winners whose fabled career includes a series of achievements. “Broken Lady” won a Grammy as Best Country Song. They’ve also received three ACM awards: “All the Gold in California,” which won Single of the Year; “Straight Ahead,” which was named Album of the Year; and a win by Larry Gatlin for Male Vocalist of the Year. They also garnered nominations many other nominations.
They have released 27 albums to date, and seen their singles hit the top spot on the charts. Larry Gatlin has been ranked number 4 in the list of solo writers who have had hits in the Top 40 on the Billboard charts. His extensive catalog has been recorded by artists like Glen Campbell, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, and others.
They’ve also made their mark on television, appearing on such shows as “Love Boat,” “Oprah,” “Johnny Carson,” and others, including “Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers,” a variety special broadcast by ABC. A review of the band says:
“They put on a wonderful show with lots of their songs and songs from their friends in country music. Songs and jokes make the show outstanding.”
The Gatlin Brothers will be at the Franklin Theater for two performances, December 20 and 21. When organizers plan shows like this, they can use poster printing to create advertising.
