Franklin to hold beginners' painting class

The Northern Lights Bob Ross certified Oil Painting class is set to take place in Franklin this January.

The Franklin Recreation Complex will serve as the venue for this art practice event.

Quintin Burlingame will instruct students in Franklin on oil painting techniques. Quintin is a certified Ross Instructor who regularly teaches students how to create paintings with the same techniques the famous Bob Ross implemented in his own paintings.

The class will center on Ross’s wet-on-wet painting techniques, as showcased in his beloved ‘Joy of Painting’ TV series, to create a 12” by 16” painting of the Northern Lights over a natural landscape within three hours. Hosts of similar recreational events often create colorful, attention-grabbing printouts that will catch the eye of anyone who is interested in joining the event.

The event fee costs $60 per person for one of the two weekend classes. These events are suitable for adults and children who are at least 13 years of age or older. Artists of any level of experience, including those who have never painted before, are welcome to join. All required tools and materials will be provided to students on the day of the class.

The Northern Lights painting class for beginning students is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 9 and on Sunday, January 10 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm on both days.
