Franklin to celebrate the Fourth

The 2021 Franklin Civic Celebration will take place locally over the 4th of July weekend, and will offer a range of family-friendly activities.

A highlight of the event is the Children’s Parade, which takes place prior to the Main Parade. It is an annual tradition as kids decorate wagons and bikes in red, white and blue colors. Baby strollers are allowed in the children’s parade and may be decorated as well. While registration is required for the Main Parade, anyone with children may participate in the kids' parade without registering.

For those interested in entering a group in the Main Parade, a registration packet may be ordered by calling 414-690-7340. Local youth groups, scout troops, and civic organizations are encouraged to join in the fun. The deadline for entry is Tuesday, June 15.

Banners are usually used on floats and other structures in parades. Banner printing may be ordered from local Print shops, who will handle the creative design and production to meet the specifications stated.

A fireworks extravaganza will take place on July 4 at 9:30 pm. Other entertainment includes Rainbow Rides, Bella Cain Band, Jimmy’s Band, The Cheap Shots Band, and Brew City Wrestling. Fitness and health group exercise classes will also be offered at no charge.

The Franklin Civic Celebration will take place at the Lions Legend Park located at Loomis Road and Drexel Avenue July 2 to 4.
