Franklin is pulling out all the stops to celebrate July 4, with a party that should draw thousands of people to the city.
Franklin on the Fourth is sponsored by the Franklin Lions Club, and takes place on the square in the city’s downtown. The day gets rolling at 10.00 am with craft and food vendors, music, antique cars, and more. Organizers of celebrations like this often use banner printing to create holiday decorations for them.
A Children’s Patriotic Parade is scheduled for 5.00 pm, with participants asked to line up at 4.45 pm. People who want to take part should register at the Lions Club Booth at the event. Prizes will be given for decorated wagons and bicycles, and for the best costume.
New for this year’s event, Fido and Fluffy are welcome to take part in a Patriotic Pet Parade that starts at 10.30 am. People who want to show off their furry friends may sign up with the Lions Club.
The day will be capped off with a fireworks display scheduled to start around 9.00 pm. The best place to watch the show is the Park at Harlinsdale, and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to get comfortable. However, the place to enjoy live entertainment is the Tractor Supply Co. Arena, where Bizz and Everyday People will be playing starting at 6.00 pm. There will also be concessions, food trucks, and family games available.
