People in Franklin have a chance to support a great cause and get some exercise at the same time.
The Park at Harlinsdale Farm will be the site of the upcoming Davis House Dash 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run. The event is in support of the Davis House Child Advocacy Center, which has been serving families and children throughout Williamson County since 2000.
The racecourse is an off-road scenic trail that leads around the farm, providing both walkers and runners with a chance to enjoy beautiful surroundings and the experience of trail running. When they plan an event like this, organizers often work with banner printing companies to create weatherproof course markers.
Davis House is now celebrating a quarter-century of providing assistance to children and helping them heal from any trauma they have experienced. It has a team of professionals and dedicated volunteers, who provide support and understanding to local families. Davis House also provides educational resources, legal support, and counseling to its clients.
In addition, the charity has been able to bring others into the effort, educating the community and expanding its reach.
The date of the event is Saturday, May 17, with the 5K starting at 8.30 am, and the Fun Run beginning at 9.30 am. The fees are $38.10 for the 5K, and $16.90 for the Fun Run.
