Trains steam by in time for Christmas

Model trains are a very popular interest for people of all ages and collectors are usually keen to share their layouts and trains with other enthusiasts. With that in mind, the Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society is presenting the Trains at Christmas model railroad show and swap meet this month. It is a chance for train fans to learn from other fans, as well as to pick up gifts for model railroad appreciative friends and family members, or to finally trade for that one piece that is missing from their layout.

The show will feature several model train layouts, exhibits from Lionel and American Flyer, and vendors selling train-related products. It will be an excellent opportunity to introduce children and adults to the joys of model railroads or for shoppers to get their Christmas list on track. No doubt the organizers of the event are working with Sioux Falls printing companies to provide flyer printing services. Any Flyers produced can be distributed to model railroad clubs, stores that sell model railroad items, or local community centers. This could only help to bring more people out and to ensure a successful show.

The 11th annual Trains at Christmas model railroad show and swap meet will take place in the Expo Building of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds from November 17 - 18 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm each day. Adults pay $4 to gain entrance and children aged under 12 are admitted free. For more information, call 605-373-0222.
