The non-profit Let Me Be 83 will host The Blue Ball: A Culinary Carnival in Sioux Falls next month to highlight the importance of nutrition in combating the effects of diabetes.
Let Me Be 83, also known as The Rivere Foundation, was started by Bethany McKenzie to advocate for better nutritional guidelines for those with diabetes. After seeing the improvement in her son’s condition after following a low-carb diet, she founded the non-profit to provide information on how to integrate a nutritional approach to diabetes management, supported by the proper use of insulins.
The gala will raise money for outreach programs for newly diagnosed patients, advocacy for more affordable insulin access, and the development of a low-carb nutrition camp for families. Charity events with specific causes will often invest in brochure printing services to create educational Brochures highlighting the details of the cause.
The ball will feature a cocktail hour, in which diabetic-friendly drinks will be available. Low-carb global cuisine, including a custom-made, low-carb dessert, will be served for dinner. There will also be live music and entertainment with a Brazilian Carnival flair.
The Blue Ball: A Culinary Carnival is scheduled for April 2 from 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm. It will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn-Downtown Sioux Falls, located on 201 E 8th Street. Individual tickets will be $150.
