Sioux Falls educational festival to teach water conservation

This March, the Sioux Empire Water Festival will take place so that local children can learn about the importance of water as an integral natural resource.

The water festival is designed uniquely for children in the fourth grade, with the festival’s presentations and exhibits structured for that age group to maximize volunteers, spaces, and funding donations in a strategic way. As such, students may only experience the festival once, when they attend during the designated grade. Schools from five counties around the area bring their students to attend each year.

The festival welcomes over 2,200 students annually to its halls to educate on the importance of water in everyday life, the various uses of water, and how to conserve it for the future. Activities will revolve around topics such as groundwater, wetland habitats, aquatic life, and health and safety. The exhibit hall will feature around 30 exhibits, many interactive, with each exploring different water-related themes.

Events involving presentations will often include Posters, which presenters can use to convey their information. Local Print shops that offer poster printing may be a helpful resource for organizers when preparing these materials.

The Sioux Falls Water Festival is schedule for March 4 and 5. It will be held at the University of Sioux Falls, which is located at 1101 West 22nd Street.
