The city of Sioux Falls will be home to a pair of events in the month of January that will likely attract many residents.
The first of them opened in November and will run until April of 2015. The Museum of Visual Material is hosting the exhibit ‘Vintage Advertising Art’. The show features the many collectibles of Ken Alvine, and consists of hundreds of illustrated advertisements from the 1960s to the 1980s. Some of the pieces are offered for sale.
Later on in the month, the Greater Sioux Falls Outdoor Show will return to the city for three days. This annual event will feature the latest products in fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. It is also set to showcase equipment and vehicles, including ATVs and motorcycles.
Both of these events will likely attract many Sioux Falls residents. Those who work with local printing companies may especially be interested in the types of advertisements that were used in the past.
‘Vintage Advertising Art’ is on display until April 30 at the Museum of Visual Material, which is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission is free.
The Greater Sioux Falls Outdoor Show will take place at the Sioux Empire Fair from January 16 to 18. Tickets are $6 each or free for children aged 12 and under.
