Live productions of two of the most popular television shows are coming to the city of Providence in the next couple of months.
Fans of ‘I Love Lucy’ can now see their favorite show on stage. The show is set in 1952 at the Desilu Playhouse, and the audience will see the behind the scenes of the filming of two episodes. All of the main characters will be there, including Lucy, Fred, Ricky, and Ethel. There will also be music from the Crystaltone Singers and the Ricky Ricardo Orchestra.
‘America's Test Kitchen’ is another show with a strong following, and Christopher Kimball will be presenting the live version this March. There will chocolate taste tests, secrets of recipe testing, and two experiments illustrating the science of cooking. The special guest will be Mary Roach and a tribute to Julia Child will be held.
A question and answer session will be of interest to diehard fans, and VIP guests can attend a post-performance meet and greet and receive a signed copy of the cookbook. Providence printing companies often provide tickets for events such as these.
I Love Lucy! Live on Stage is taking place at the Providence Performing Arts Center from February 24 to March 1. Tickets range in price from $28 to $60.
America's Test Kitchen will be appearing at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium on March 4. Tickets cost from $35 to $55, while VIP tickets are $85 each.
