Warminster workshops to address beginner beekeeping

Those who are getting started at beekeeping, or who would like to learn more about the practice, can register now for a series of classes aimed at amateur apiarists.

Delaware Valley University has created a schedule of Warminster area classes that have a focus on beekeeping, and there are five workshops on the calendar. They kick off in early July, and a separate Queen Rearing series is also set to be on offer in May.

Students in the Introductory Beekeeping course will learn from Master Beekeeper Vincent Aloyo, Ph.D. He will introduce the basics of bee biology, and also their behavior and typical habits, and everyone will be taught how to build an apiary of their own. The students will find out what supplies can help to make the practice of caring for the bees and harvesting honey easier Each session will run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Beekeeping and other agricultural practices are finding new homes in suburban and even urban environments. A poster printing company will be able to produce marketing materials that will get the word out to the public about an upcoming learning opportunity.

These activities will be on offer at the Main Campus of Delaware University, They will be held on July 15, 16, 22, and 23, and the Queen Rearing classes will be taking place on May 13 and 14.
