Warminster fundraiser supports area vets

Veterans and first responders alike often shoulder a heavy burden, and a Warminster fundraiser will show them that their community stands behind them.

The Honor and Courage Foundation has invited the public to attend a gala evening that will raise both funding and awareness for former military members and first responders coping with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health issues. Those interested can purchase a ticket for themselves, and there is also an option whereby they can sponsor a table for veterans to attend.

The soiree will include a buffet dinner filled with a variety of hot and cold dishes, and beer and wine are also on the menu. The program includes a screening of the trailer for "The Vietnam Veteran,” and music and dancing are also in the works. The suggested dress is evening/cocktail attire, and both live and silent actions are on the agenda. The venue for the occasion will be The Fuge, which was developed by the U.S. Navy in the late 1940s, and tours of the facility will be on offer.

Many event organizers count on the generosity of the local business community, and a sponsorship program may make it easy for them to support the cause. The donation of Corporate Gifts in kind will also no doubt be appreciated as these can be used as draw prizes or auction items.

The Honor and Courage Gala will salute veterans and first responders on Saturday, February 7, starting at 6:00 pm. Its Patch listing provides further details.
