Gardens can attract butterflies and other wildlife, and this will be the focus of an upcoming workshop planned for Warminster green thumbs.
Warminster Township Parks and Recreation will soon be hosting a free information session that will introduce the public to butterfly gardening. The whole family is welcome to attend the function, which will run for one hour.
During the workshop, the attendees will discover how easy it can be to attract butterflies and other creatures, even with space as limited as a patio or balcony. They will learn which plants will draw which species, and whether perennials or annuals are the best choice for a particular location. The life cycle of these insects will be reviewed, and the goal is for all the learners to go home with a greater understanding of these fascinating Flyers.
One of the ways an event like this can benefit the participants is by helping them to identify which species of butterfly they see. Simple field guides can make this even easier, and these can be prepared for this sort of occasion by an area printing services company.
The date for this introduction to butterfly gardening will be October 27. It will be held at 1100 Veterans Way, and everyone is asked to be on site by no later than 6:30 pm.
