Diabetes can be a serious health issue, and an upcoming Warminster workshop will arm those who participate with tools they can use to manage the disease or prevent it from occurring in the first place.
Karen Velez, RN CDE, who works with Doylestown Health Diabetes Services, will be facilitating the event. She will be sharing information and tips about how to recognize the warning Signs of diabetes, what risks people with the disease can face and how to prevent them and also how to live a healthy lifestyle with the condition. A focus will also be on how to make healthy lifestyle choices that can help to keep a person from developing the condition.
The event, which has been organized by Doylestown Health, is being offered on free of charge basis, and all who feel it will be helpful to them are welcome to participate. A booklet printing company can lend a hand by producing informational materials that can be distributed to all those who attend an information session such as this.
The Diabetes prevention and Management workshop will be held on November 15 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Cowhey Family ShopRite, which is located at Health Connections, 942 W. Street Rd in Warminster. Anyone who is interested in registering to take part, or who would like to find out more, can do so through its Eventbrite listing.
