High school students from Warminster are being given a special opportunity to learn more about running a business.
The teens from William Tennent High are working in and running a mini version a ShopRite in a classroom in the school. It is being operated as a career lab, and gives the rest of the pupils a place in which they can do a little bit of shopping between classes, or whenever they have the time.
The students who take part learn a variety of skills such as marketing, accounting, planning, management, and inventory control. It is hoped that this will provide them with a skillset that they can use when their school days are over and they move on the working world. A company that provides marketing services can provide variety of printed items for the store, such as signage, advertising Posters, Flyers that can be placed in each classroom, and T-Shirts for the kids who will staff the location.
According to the school’s principal, Dennis Best, this fits in perfectly with the goal of having the students well prepared for either post-secondary education or a career when they graduate.
The school is just one of 16 that offer the program, carried out in cooperation with the Wakefern ShopRight Corporation. It first stated back in 1988 and has seen more than 3,000 students take part to date.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts
