This August, Warminster will be taking a step back in time to its early days thanks to an activity that will celebrate its past.
Moland House will be partnering with a variety of groups to mark the 248th anniversary of the march Washington made to Philadelphia in 1777. It will be the signature fundraiser for the historical venue, and there will be plenty to see and do for all ages.
The event organizers expect plenty of interest in the activity, and an assortment of area vendors have been invited to get involved. There will be costumed reenactors as well as tradesmen showcasing their skills, and period-style performances have been scheduled. “George Washington” will make an appearance to preside over the recreation of a foraging party of British regulars being repulsed by the Continental Army. The schedule for the day runs for six hours.
One of the tasks often undertaken when organizing an event with a historical flavor is choosing suitable decor. A poster printing company can supply items that fit in well with the overall atmosphere of an occasion, and they can be crafted from durable materials that may be used more than once.
Moland House will be offering this glimpse into the early days of the nation's creation on Saturday, August 16. It will be welcoming guests at 1641 York Road in Warminster.
