Warminster green thumbs to tour area gardens

Native plants often offer many advantages not found in introduced species, and those who would like to learn more about adding them to their own plantings may want to be part of a summer tour.

Those who take part in the Designed for Nature garden tour will be visiting locations around Warminster that have signed on to be part of the day. This will be the seventh year for the activity, which has proved to be consistently popular.

The registrants for the day will visit gardens being transitioned to native plantings so they can see how beautiful they can be for themselves. Creative uses for water will be demonstrated, and woodland, foundation, meadow, and pollinator beds will all be on the tour. A plant sale and raffle, with a prize of a painted drain barrel prepared by member artist Anna Edling, is set to round out the occasion.

Those who purchase a ticket for the self-guided tour can check in at the designated table to pick up their map on the day of the event. A brochure printing company will be happy to lend a hand with occasions like this.

June 17 will be the date of the Designed for Nature garden tour. Locations for the various stops, as well as other information, will be distributed to ticketholders ahead of its scheduled date.
