Warminster families enjoy a special holiday party

Parents and caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorders from Warminster and the surrounding communities recently had a chance to enjoy themselves at a special holiday event.

The Autism Cares foundation hosted the party, which was held in the cafeteria of Council Rock High School South. More than 400 children ranging in age from babies up to teenagers and young adults, together with their families, came out to join in the festivities.

There were decorations and food to enjoy, as well as softly playing holiday music and even gifts. Catering for the event was provided by B& T catering, and the desserts were contributed by the families themselves. Stationery printers can Print Menus for this type of event, which can be very helpful, as many children with autism are sensitive to certain foods.

Families could also have their pictures taken together by On the Spot Memories, and even Santa himself made an appearance. He has been coming to the annual event for the past five years, and remarked that he is pleased to be involved with something that helps so many and gives them a chance to socialize with others who understand what they are dealing with in their daily lives.

The foundation’s cofounder and CEO Linda Kuepper noted that the generosity of the community, and the hard work of everyone who had lent a hand to making the evening a success, really touched her heart, and expressed her appreciation of the support shown for the families.
