With baked treats being popular during the holiday season, a timely Warminster event will see local bakers putting their favorite recipes to the test.
The Warrington Lions Club has plans for its first ever holiday cookie contest, and both amateur and professional bakers will be able to take part. They are invited to submit samples of their creations for the attendees to try, and the winners of the will be presented with blue ribbons prepared for the occasion.
As well as the culinary competition, the guests will be able to spend some time with Santa, who will be heading to Warminster for this celebration. The monies raised through the day will support local play parks as well as other charitable initiatives.
Everyone who would like to submit their cookie recipe is encouraged to do so, and the entry fee is $25 for one cookie type. There are spaces for up to 40 bakers, and they will each need to supply at least four dozen samples.
Hosting an out-of-the-box event is one way a not-for-profit group can grab the public’s attention. Corporate Gifts for the occasion, including prizes and swag, may be obtained from area Print shops.
This celebration of the sweet side of the holiday season is scheduled for December 11. The Benjamin H Wilson Senior Center in Warminster has provided space for the occasion.
