Warminster asked to walk for mental health awareness

This spring, an awareness raising event planned for Warminster Community Park will work remove mental health stigmas, and everyone is encouraged to get involved.

It is estimated by the National Institute for Mental Health that as many as one out of every five Americans is living with a mental health issue, and the 5K stride for Mental Health Awareness/Walk to End Stigma will work to both raise awareness and show that people with mental illnesses have the full support of their neighbours and the whole community at large. There will be 5K, 3K and walking options to choose from, and everyone is welcome.

The planners of the occasion are anticipating that it will be a popular event, and it is expected that it could attract a crowd that numbers into hundreds. Those who are interested can walk individually or as part of a team, and when they walk, they will be showing the community they care.

To thank the supporters of the function, the planners have some special Corporate Gifts on offer for those who fund raise. T-Shirts, jackets, hoodies, messenger Bags, and thermal Mugs are the prizes that will be distributed, and the one a participant receives will depend upon the amount they raise.

Registration for the Stride for Mental Health Awareness is now open, and it will be taking place on May 16. Those who wish to take part are encouraged to register now and get their fundraising started as soon as possible.
