Mother Nature can come up with some ingenious solutions that allow life to thrive, and a group of plants that have evolved as meat eaters will be the stars of an upcoming Warminster area workshop.
Those who register for the DIY Carnivorous Terrarium class will learn how to construct a miniature ecosystem that will be suitable for one of these plants. As they tend to grow in areas with low nutrient levels, they have adapted to consume insects to provide them with nutrition, and the terrariums will provide them with a suitable home.
Attendees in the class will receive assistance in choosing their plants, as well as creating a potting medium that will be suitable for their project. Care tips will be supplied, and at the end of the session, everyone will be able to take their completed terrarium home with them. Anyone who would like to participate has been asked to sign up by calling 215-887-7500.
