Warminster area event to fight the stigma around mental illness

Mental health is an issue that affects individuals, families and the whole community, and a Warminster event will seek to raise awareness about this topic and what locals can do to support those living with a mental illness.

The organizers noted that the goal of ‘SPLASH! A Mental Health Awareness Event’ is to take step to remove the stigma surrounding the health of the mind, and also to dispel some of the myths about it. All ages are welcome to participate in the family friendly fun, and there will be plenty going on for all.

The guests at the function will be treated to both live musical performances and tunes from a DJ, and both food and drinks will be offered for purchase. There will be a variety of guest speakers taking part, and the plan is for the evening to be both fun and educational, showing those in the community who are living with a mental illness that they have the full understanding and support of their neighbors.

The festivities are set to begin at 5:00 pm, and they will continue until 7:00 pm. Brochure printing can be used to supply informational publications to distribute during this type of function.

August 11 has been chosen as the date for this celebration, and it will be held in the Newtown Athletic Club. Tickets start at $13 each for kids and $20 for adults, and a special discount is being offered for families.
