Philadelphia business offers up a special plate

A Philadelphia firm called Fitly has brought out a high-tech plate product which it hopes will help encourage healthy eating.

A mobile device will track what an individual decides to eat. Printing services in Warminster could be used to market the innovation in question.

Anthony Ortiz, the chief executive officer of Fitly, has told the Philadelphia Business Journal:

“With the SmartPlate, all you have to do is remember to use the SmartPlate. If you do that, it does the rest for you in an instant.”

Ortiz has maintained that the product of his business is unique. This is because there is no necessity to log in data via a downloaded app. There is also need to memorize what has been eaten in the past.

The SmartPlate has ways of assessing the food placed upon it. For example, small cameras are useful when it comes to object recognition. Weight sensors play a part in measuring the quantity of what a person is about to start eating.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology are used to help the consumer achieve what they are after. In addition, the plate has been designed with the capacity to count calories from barcodes on products. When people encounter food in the absence of the plate, they will be able to photograph the item and upload the data later on.
