Intersection reconstruction will result in Bristol Road detour

The next two months will see the intersection of Bristol Road and Route 263 closed for an ongoing road improvement project with detours in Warminster and Warwick townships.

Construction began in March 2014 on a $31.6m project by PennDOT to reconstruct and improve a section of Route 263. The four-mile project between Bristol Road and Sugar Bottom Road is expected to take until October 2017 to complete. According to PennDOT, the closure will begin today (July 5).

When road construction necessitates detours, local business are often significantly affected. Wise entrepreneurs seek to get ahead of the effects of these detours by consulting with their printing company about the marketing services they have available. By giving their customers added incentive to use alternative routes, they can deflect the adverse results of road closing.

Traffic will be detoured over Route 132, Route 263, and Route 611, according to PennDOT. However, up to the construction zone, local access will be maintained. Additionally, Bristol Road traffic that is travelling eastbound will remain able to reach Route 263, and although they not be able to cross the intersection, drivers will still be able to travel north or south.

The reopening of the west side of Bristol road is anticipated to happen in late August. Motorists are cautioned to allow themselves extra time when driving through the area.
