People from Warminster and the surrounding areas are invited to come together and take part in an event to show their support for members of the armed forces who were wounded in the performance of their duties.
The Annual Wounded Hero 5k will be more than just a run or walk; the goal for the day is for it to be full of fun for the whole family. There will be live entertainment, food, balloons, face painting and clowns. Wounded heroes will also act as guest speakers to address and inspire the crowd. Proceeds form the event will be used to help fund Operation Ward 57, which supports wounded servicemen and servicewomen both in the hospital and once they are at home. This is done through a variety of measures, including its development of a wounded heroes speakers’ bureau.
