In just a few weeks, a new brewpub is set to open its doors downtown.
For Brent Stambaugh, Jason Stambaugh, and Mark Mathias, the opening of the Miscreation brewpub is the next step in their careers are brewers. The three began brewing beers at their homes several years ago.
While the Hanover brewery may seem a logical move, the process of opening it has met a few snags along the way. The trio signed a lease on the property it will be renting back in June of last year, but a number of paperwork issue with both the federal and state governments led to a series of delays, especially since the company submitted its paperwork at the start of the busy season.
Miscreation Brewing Company finally got approval for the brewpub near the end of January. In preparation for the pub's opening, the company has started brewing more than a dozen different beers. To make sure everything goes as planned, it hopes to do a few trial runs before officially opening.
Although an exact opening date hasn't been decided yet, it looks like it will be at the end of February or at the beginning of March. When they do pick a date, the three brewers could use postcard printing to spread the word with the community.
For now, the plan is to be open Thursday through Saturday, serving the brewery's beers and a small food menu. In the summer, the team expects to expand the brewpub's hours.
