Hanover will soon be treated to the delights of Germany thanks to the city’s second Saturday initiative, and the organizers hope it will have everyone raising their stein during the celebration.
The city's downtown will be celebrating with an Oktoberfest event, which will feature an assortment of tastings. It marks its association with its German sister city. It will be an active event, with the ticket holders strolling their way along the set route.
The eateries and other venues that sign on for the fun will each be serving up bites of German style dishes, and every course, from appetizers to dessert, will be on the menu. The participants may also stop by the breweries that call downtown Hanover home, ordering up some of their autumn offerings. It will also provide an opportunity to learn more about the history of the community and the entertainment will be supplied by the Blaskapelle Shippensburg German Band. Tickets start at $30.00 each, and additional add-ons may be purchased as well.
To add even more fun, members of the public can put their strength to the test in a stein hoisting competition. The top three contestants will receive a cash prize, a selection of Promotional Products and bragging rights.
The 2026 Hanover Oktoberfest – A Taste of Germany celebration Bites and Brews Stroll is set to be a “volksfest” with fun for all ages on September 12th. It will start at 11:00 am.
