Kenneth Serfass will be performing as Ulysses S. Grant in November at the Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover.
Grant In The White House (1868-1876) is an educational program where people can see a presentation held by a professional impersonator. The event will educate attendees about the triumphs and hardships Grant endured while serving as president. The intended audiences for this performance are teens, adults, and seniors. The program will take place in the John & Joan Bare Center and will last for two hours.
Serfass is a living history impressionist who has been impersonating Ulysses S. Grant for over 14 years. He can offer motivational talks to groups as the former president and leads a walking tour in Gettysburg. Serfass also has experience as a music teacher, jazz band director, and tuba coach. He was even a musician in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years. Serfass went to school at Point Loma Nazarene University and San Diego Mesa College.
The presentation will be held on November 14 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There is no cost for library patrons to enjoy the performance, and guests are allowed to reserve their spots in advance. Libraries that offer unique storytelling events such as this may use poster printing to let their guests know about the community activities in advance.
