Healthcare practice plans new building near Hanover

Integrated healthcare system WellSpan Health has announced intentions to build a new facility near Hanover.

The new facility, which will be called WellSpan Hanover Health Center, will be located on Baltimore Street in Penn Township. With a footprint of 80,000-square-feet, it will include areas for laboratory services, operations, and specialty procedures, and diagnostic imaging services. MRIs, CT scans, and mammography will also be offered at the new center.

Along with offering special procedures and technology, the center will be the home of cardiologists, OB/GYNs, and primary care physicians.

Healthcare systems that are planning on constructing new facilities and buildings can use marketing services to promote their new services and offerings.

Currently, the plan is to begin construction on the new center this fall. Construction is pending final approvals of the plans, and the goal is to complete the facility by fall next year.

In a press release, Dr. Kevin Mosser, the CEO and president of WellSpan Health, said that the health system



"[The health system] has been caring for Hanover area residents for nearly 140 years, and this project reflects our long-term commitment to those who live and work here. Through this new health center, WellSpan will bring even more advanced specialty care to the greater Hanover community."




WellSpan will construct the new facility in a phases. During the first phase, the imaging center, labs services, and surgical suites will be construction. All told, the new outpatient care facility will cost the health system $49m.
