Hanover walk to support survivors of domestic abuse

YWCA Hanover will organize a fundraiser in August to fund its programs for domestic violence victims.

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes® is a community activity that invites men to see things from a feminine perspective by walking a mile in high heels. The event helps increase awareness for issues like gender violence, and raises money for programs that aim to end abuse towards women and girls. The activity will be held at Winebrenner Motor Services. After the walk, participants can attend an after-party at the venue. The goal of the fundraiser is to earn $75,000.

Companies that want to help reduce gender violence and be visible to people at the event can become a sponsor. YWCA Hanover has several sponsorships that range between $100 and $10,000. The benefits include receiving a vendor table at the walk and being recognized on social media. Those who purchase the GoGo Boots Tier for $10,000 will have an opportunity to speak at the event’s podium, and have their logo featured on the venue’s banner.

The community walk will be on Friday, August 11 at 6:00 pm. People may check-in for the event at 5:00 pm. Those 18 and up may pay $30 to register for the fundraiser, and those under 17 can enter the walk for free. People who coordinate events for causes like this can use brochure printing to provide guests with resources they can bring home.
