Hanover students can take part in a scientific activity in February offered by York County Libraries.
Leap into Science is a program where kids can learn about various STEAM-related topics while enjoying interactive activities. The series was created by the Franklin Institute, and the class will be led by educator Ben Olewiler. This month, the theme will be Freeze Time. Families will work together during the course and conduct science experiments at home. Organizations that plan out programs for kids like this can use poster printing for marketing the event at local libraries or other public areas.
The Franklin Institute is a science museum named after Benjamin Franklin. The mission of the attraction is to make people more passionate about science and technology. Visitors to the museum can visit the Fels Planetarium, Foucault’s Pendulum, and watch shows. The Franklin Memorial is also located in the museum. A few examples of the live experiences held at the attraction include the Liquid Air Show and Heart Dissection activity.
The next Leap into Science session will be held on February 26th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. There is no cost for families to partake in the event, and all participants should only register once per device. The activity will take place on a Zoom call and is intended for elementary schoolers. The organizer for the program is Jackie Dell-Shearer.
