Hanover locals who are curious about the topic of genealogy can attend a presentation in April offered by the South Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.
Getting Started with Genealogy is part of the York County Libraries’ Zoom into History program. Organizations like North Eastern York County History In Preservation and AllVets of York have partnered with the library to broadcast discussions with professional historians. Becky Anstine will be leading April’s genealogy presentation, introducing viewers to the basics of family research. The age range for the event will be for teenagers and above.
The South Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society is a non-profit group consisting of volunteer genealogists who wish to promote public interest in their field. The organization collects and preserves genealogy-related materials and holds multiple meetings to educate its members and the community. The group also provides financial assistance and volunteers to the library at the York County History Center. Educational organizations like this can advertise special programs using flyer printing.
The genealogy lesson will be held on April 26th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The presentation is free to view, though interested audience members must register for the program in advance.
