Nerdtopia in Hanover will host a festive Magic the Gathering (MGT) competition in December.
The MTG Christmas Tournament is a special holiday event where 16 people can compete for prizes. Each deck used in the competition can only be comprised of red, white, or green cards. Participants are given a deck budget of $150, and all infinite combos are banned from the tourney. People are also not allowed to win before the fourth turn. A DIY Christmas Cookie Bar by the Sweet Paige Baking Co. will be held before the tournament, and guests can also visit with the Grinch.
Nerdtopia is a shop located in the North Hanover Mall that sells comics, card games, and pop culture collectibles. Many games are played at the store, such as Warhammer and Pokémon. The business is also the organizer of the Nerdtopia Fan Expo. The event takes place at the Danele Shipley Memorial Arena in Westminster, Maryland. Other activities organized by the shop include the Kids Trick or Treat & Costume Contest and Miniature Paint Competition.
The MTG tournament will be on Saturday, December 16th at 2:30pm. Those interested in the competition can pay $10 to enter. All participants must submit their decks to the judges by December 8th.
