Hanover residents can enjoy taste of summer at festivals

Summer can be a great time to try new flavors, and a number of food festivals make it easy for Hanover residents to do just that.

On July 8 at 6pm, the National Watch and Clock Museum will host its annual Hops and Clocks event. During the event, attendees have the chance to taste test a variety of beers from local breweries and sample a variety of foods from area restaurants. The museum will be open during the fundraiser.

Over in Harrisburg on July 9, people of all ages are invited to attend a Grilled Chicken, Chocolate, Wine & Beer Feast at Spring Gate Vineyard. The feast starts at noon and goes until 3 pm. Dishes are sold a la carte, so no advanced tickets are needed. Flyers can help organizers of food festivals throughout Central PA spread the word about their events and get local residents excited about them.

The Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset will host a Ribs & Wing Festival from July 15 to July 17. Tickets to the festival are $7 per day and free for kids under age 12. Along with food from vendors such as Butch's Smack Your Lips BBQ, Randita's Food Truck, and Armadilllo's BBQ and Rib Company, the festival will feature a variety of musical performances on several stages.

Finally, the Hanover Dutch Festival arrives in downtown Hanover at the very end of July. Starting at 8 am on July 30, a number of food and craft vendors will line the streets of Hanover. There will also be a car show and live German entertainment.
