Hanover marathon to raise money for Covid relief

The Hanover YMCA will be organizing a charity race this October to benefit the YMCA STRONG Covid Relief Campaign.

The Hanover YMCA Runfest is an athletic event consisting of three races that take place throughout the Hershey Heights area. There will be a half marathon and 5K that runners can join, while children can participate in the Kids 1-Mile Fun Run instead. The marathon is held on a 13.1-mile course that has only one significant hill. Those running the 5K will run on a flat and fast paved loop. The YMCA will have showers and changing rooms available for the runners.

Awards will be given to the top three men and women in each age division, though all participants will receive a finisher medal. Children will get a participation medal for taking part in the fun run. Anyone who registers by September 6 will receive a moisture-wicking long-sleeved shirt to use for the event. Athletic fundraisers like this can use Print shops to create branded Apparel to raise awareness for their cause.

The running festival will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm. Registration for the half marathon will cost $70, while the 5K will cost $20. Children can join the fun run for $10. Prices are currently discounted, though they will increase after August 31. Those who wish to help the YMCA STRONG Covid Relief Campaign can donate to the event site.
