Hanover laces up its sneakers for MDA

For the past 12 years, people in Hanover have been pounding the pavement to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This year will be no different, with the 12th Annual Run/Walk for Muscular Dystrophy, sponsored by Heritage/ERA Preferred Properties, taking place very soon.

Registration for the event is still open. The organizers could use printing services to provide registration Forms to interested parties, before and on race day.

Awards will be given to the top three finishers in both male and female categories. Medals will also be given out by age, with the top three finishers in every age bracket taking home a prize. Awards are also available for corporate groups who raise the most in pledges.

If participants need medical care or assistance during the event, a team of certified trainers will be on hand from Hanover Rehab Center. Runners and walkers are encouraged to stick around after the race, as refreshments will be served.

The event is set to take place on the morning of October 11 at Hillside Medical Center, 250 Fame Avenue, in Hanover, and will go ahead rain or shine. On the day of the run/walk, registration on site begins at 8:00 am. The run/walk itself kicks off at 9:00 am. The cost to register is $25 per person, whether a person is running or walking. Free T-Shirts are given to participants while supplies last.
