The Sheppard-Myers stadium in Hanover was once run down and neglected but recent renovations have restored the stadium to its former glory.
To celebrate the refreshed stadium, Hanover School District plans on holding a Fall Festival on October 5. The town and school district have already begun preparations for the inaugural fair, of which the school district's students will be the main focus. Each of the five schools in the district will be able to show off their collective talents during the festival.
As of yet, it is unknown how each school will contribute. Students might decide to create artwork to display during the festival or they might contribute baked goods to the fair. In order to get the word out about the festival, the Hanover School District might enlist the help of area printing companies for postcard printing and Flyers.
Area residents can get ready for the October festival now by submitting a recipe to the festival's recipe contest. With the winning recipe to be sold at the stadium's concession stand during events. Recipes are being accepted until September 20 and those interested in submitting a recipe can send it to the business of Darlene Funk, Nature's Illusions, 417 York Street, in Hanover, or drop it off there in person. Funk is a member of the Hanover School District school board.
In addition to showcasing the talents of area students and the cooking skills of Hanoverians, the festival will feature musical performances and other entertainment. Local athletes can try out the stadium's new track by participating in races throughout the evening.
