As part of an annual tradition in Hanover, the city will hold its fifth ‘Chalk it Up’ event in just a few days’ time.
During the event, people of all ages are encouraged to use chalk to create a piece of art on a square of sidewalk in the downtown area. The event is open to all, but children under age 18 need to have their parent's permission to participate.
People are welcome to wait until the day of the event to register, but preregistration has an advantage. Those who preregister are able to arrive 30 minutes before the others and get first pick of an area of sidewalk to work on.
The works of chalk art will be evaluated by a team of judges, who will pick their favorite. The winner will receive a cash prize. For the first time, there will also be a "people's choice" winner, who will also receive a cash prize. The event's organizer, Main Street Hanover, can use Stationery printers to create certificates for everyone who participates.
Chalk It Up is scheduled from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm this Saturday, June 13. It will be followed by the first ever ‘Sip & Stroll’ along Main Street. The event starts at 4:00 pm and will highlight 10 area businesses. Visitors will have a chance to sample food and drink from a number of downtown restaurants and establishments.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
